Four goals for Eastwood Dominant Blues never gave Tuesday evening’s hosts a chance – almost literally, as Braintree were pinned in their own half for long periods.
The first goal came close to the half hour when Freddy Eastwood shot home from close range after latching on to Danny Hayzelden’s cross.
Soon afterward Tony Lock added a second and five minutes before the interval Blues were rewarded with a third as Eastwood netted again – this time a fine solo effort.
Grays peppered the home goal after the break but had to wait until the 72nd minute before Eastwood completed his hat-tick – then he went on to bring his personal tally to four just before time.
