Freddy leads the way Former West Ham teenager Freddy Eastwood is fast becoming a Grays favourite.
The 19-year-old increased his fan base on Tuesday night when he scored one and was involved in both the other goals at The Rec.
Eastwood opened his account early, hammering home a 35-yard shot after a solo run from just inside his own half.
After the break the visitors stepped up their work rate, but again Eastwood demonstrated his pedigree.
His perfectly weighted pass allowed Stuart Thurgood a simple tap home.
Consistent pressure resulted in the Bishops pulling one back, but with virtually the last touch of the game Eastwood fed Martin Carthy who made it 3-1.
Grays manager Mark Stimson’s desire is to use young ex-Football League players to build a squad for the future. One thing’s for sure, Eastwood may already be a name being pencilled in on talent scouts notebooks.
