Leaders held by Blues
Ryman Premier League leaders Carshalton were held by Grays at The Rec on Tuesday.
Blues weathers a stormy 20 minutes, before defenders Steve Robinson and Joe Bruce steadies the home side’s resolve and Blues took the match to their high-flying visitors.
Much fancied ex-West Ham player Freddy Eastwood turned on the style.
The 19-year-old had a busy first 45 and the best chance of the half. But his close-range shot, which left Carshalton keeper Stuart Searle for dead, just flew over.
In the second half Grays grew in confidence, taking the game to Carshalton. Midfielders Stuart Thurgood and Ram Marwa got busy in the centre.
Blues manager Mark Stimson called for ex-Southend centre-half to push forward and the change worked.
