Match report |
Frank Gray chalked up his first win as Grays manager on Saturday when his side defeated Welling United 2-1 at Park Lane.

Second half goals from triallist John Turner and Jamie Slabber helped Blues recover from a first half deficit inflicted by Welling substitute Che Stadhart.

20-year-old Turner struck up a good partnership with Slabber and with Gary Hooper gone and Dennis Oli seemingly on his way a fourth striker spot appears to be up for grabs.

Turner started off at Cambridge where he netted 10 goals in 85 league appearances and scored once for Rushden and Diamonds after joining them towards the end of last season.

Thanks to the Thurrock Gazette for the report.
