Yems joined Grays Ath in August 2007 as Cheif Scout. He had previously been caretaker manager at Crawley Town after the sacking of John Hollins.
Following Jimmy Dack's departure from The New Rec in October 2007, his job role changed and was appointed the new first team coach.
He has also had experience as a coach at Millwall and Fulham, and a managerial spell at Horsham.
In January 2008, Yems left the club by mutual consent.
