Centre-back, Mark Haines joined the Blues on work experience in March 2008. Shortly after however, Northampton Town announced that the defender had been released from the club.
The youngster signed a one-year deal for the club on 13th May 2008.
Haines was used an unused substitute for Grays Ath against Northwich Victoria and Farsley Celtic towards the end of the 2007/08 season.
Prior to joining Grays Ath, Haines joined BGB Southern Premier side Cheshunt in January 2008 on work-experience terms. His spell ended at the end of February.
The 18-year-old also played against Grays in a Pontin's Holiday Combination League match at Sixfields in February 2008.
