Molesley started his career with Hayes, whom he joined when he was just 17-years-old and eventually earned the captaincy of the academy team. Whilst playing for Hayes’ youth academy, Mark also captained the Great Britain Colleges XI.
He made his debut for the Missioners towards the end of the 1999/00 season, against Nuneaton Borough on 6th May 2000. Hayes won the game 3-0.
Mark stayed at Church Road until the end of the the 2004/05, having made over 200 appearances for Hayes. In May 2005, he opted to join Conference South outfit Cambridge City, stating they were an ambitious club.
In January 2006, Exeter City boss, Alex Inglethorpe expressed his interest for the centre-midfielder. However, nothing materialised and he continued to ply his trade for the west London based club.
During his time at Cambridge City, he made 38 appearances in all competitions scoring seven goals.
Molesley linked up with his former Hayes manager, Terry Brown in May 2006 joining Aldershot Town. He stayed at The Rec for just one season where he made 33 appearances in the Conference, scoring a single goal.
His impressive form in the 2005/06 season for The Shots earned him a call up to the England National Game XI squad.
Despite being offered a new contract by The Shots, Molesley joined former Grays Ath manager, Mark Stimson at Stevenage Borough, signing a two-year deal in May 2007.
However, the midfielder made just 11 appearances in the Blue Square Premier for Boro and was linked to a move to Grays Ath in December 2007. Grays eventually signed Molesley on 22nd May 2008, along with former Shot, Rob Gier and Charlie Ide ready for the 2008/09 season.
In October 2008 Mark joined League Two side AFC Bournemouth initially on loan until January 2009, when his move was made permanent as he signed an 18-month contract with the Cherries.
