Joined Grays Athletic on the transfer deadline day - 31st January 2006, on loan from Lincoln City until the end of the season. He started his career at the Lincoln City academy before going out on loan to Northern Counties East side Lincoln Moorlands. Wilkinson also had a loan spell at Unibond team Grantham Town in January 2006. He made his Football League debut for Lincoln as a sub at Carlisle United in March 2006. He left the club at the end of February 2007 without making an appearance.
