Dos Santos only started playing football in 2006, and rose from Sunday league football to joining non-league outfit Sutton United's youth team.
The youngster scored over 30 goals in his first season for Sutton's youth team, and was given his first shot at senior football by former Grays Ath assistant manager, Jimmy Dack.
His goalscoring exploits attracted the interest of several high profile clubs including Portsmouth, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Charlton Athletic, Norwich City and Ipswich Town before eventually signing for Crystal Palace.
Dos Santos then had a trial with Wayne Burnett's Leyton Orient youth team in 2009.
He was linked with Grays during the 2008/09 campaign, he eventaully signed at the start of the following season on 16th June 2009.
