During his youth days, Allan played for Islington/Camden's 1995 English Schools Trophy winning team.
McLeod was with Arsenal until 2000, aged 20. He was a regular in the 1998 FA Premier Youth championship winning team, and played in the 1998 Southern Junior Floodlit Cup winning team.
He dropped into non-league football, playing for Grays Ath, Redbridge, Dulwich and Bromley. He signed for Tooting & Mitcham in summer of 2006.
McLeod joined Grays on trial along with Tooting teammate, Paul Vines in late May. He signed for the club in the closed-season, leaving less than a month later stating "they really mucked me about so I just went to see the bosses, shook them by the hand and said that is me out of here".
He rejoined former club, Tooting & Mitcham.
