Serge started his career at MK Dons, making just two appearances before moving to Kettering Town in March 2006.
He was released from Kettering in May 2007, subsequently joining Maidenhead United three months later in August.
In March 2008, he had a brief spell at Halesowen Town before an unsuccesful trial period with Dorchester Town.
Makofo later joined Potters Bar Town, before signing for Croydon Athletic in December 2008.
The wide-man's arrival at The Rec was announced on 26th June 2009, along with Allan McLeod, Marcel McKie and Nick McKoy. He made his debut in a pre-season friendly at home to a strong West Ham United side.
