Joined the club on 31st January 2007 for an initial one month loan spell which was extended until the end of the season from Millwall. He made his debut for the club in the 2-1 win against Yeading in the FA Trophy, and scored his first goal for Grays in the 4-1 win away at Welling United, again in the FA Trophy. Grant started his career at Tooting & Mitcham before signing for Gillingham in December 2005, and after just 10 league appearances, signed for Millwall in May 2006.
Grant returned to Grays on a season long loan on 24th August 2007. However, this was cut short in January 2008 when Gavin returned to Millwall.
