Signed for Grays Athletic on 8th December 2006 from Welling United after he had been on 'non-contract' terms with the Kent Conference South club. Bodkin made his debut for Grays in the Conference local derby with Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day 2006. He started his career as a trainee with Nottingham Forest, before moving to Gillingham in October 2004. At the end of the season he signed for Welling. Bodkin spent 1 month on loan at Conference South club Thurrock in February 2007, making 5 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
Bodkin started the 2007/08 season out on loan to Dartford. As of September, he joined Thurrock on loan again for the remainder of the season.
