After falling victim to a first minute goal, Grays dominated the next 89 in their Ryman Premier clash with Kettering Town on Tuesday.
Grays equalised when Danny Hayzelden went up with the keeper after 20 minutes. But from then on – and despite having most of the play – Grays were thwarted.
Martin Carthy came close several times and the midfield battled hard. But Grays had to settle for a point and must now turn their attention to their FA Cup 2nd Preliminary Round clash with St Albans on Saturday.
Grays manager Mark Stimson was positive about his teams performance, but he was frustrated because the other two points were there for the taking.
He said “They scored in the first minute, but we controlled the game for the other 89. I was pleased that defensively we were strong. It was a good performance, but luck was not with us†.
