Ryman Premier League strugglers Braintree poached a point from Grays at The Rec on Saturday.

The visitors have been whipping boys for the last few months but have signed on the talented former Hitchin and Aldershot attacker Adam Parker.

Grays went ahead in the 32nd when Freddy Eastwood glanced home Daniel Lunan’s cross.

But at the other end Scott Barrett – in goal in place of Mel Capleton – produced great saves from two Parker efforts.

Two minutes into the second half Braintree skipper Bradley Quinton forced an error from Barrett. The equaliser fractured Blues’ cohesion and they fade somewhat despite the efforts of Leroy Griffiths and Martin Carthy.
