Signed a 1 year deal with the club on 13th July 2006, after agreeing a switch from Canvey Island. Boylan made his debut for the club in the opening league fixture of the season at home to Stafford Rangers. He started his career as a trainee at West Ham and made 1 substitute appearance, as well as having a short loan spell at Kingstonian before being given a free transfer, where he joined Swedish side Trelleborg. After just 3 months in Sweden, Boylan returned to the UK and played for Exeter City on a monthly deal until January 2000, after which he turned out for Kingstonian, Hayes and Stevenage until signing for Canvey Island in August 2001. Whilst at Canvey he won 3 Ryman League Golden Boot awards, helped the club reach the Conference and scored 164 goals. Joined Ryman Premier league side Chelmsford City on loan until the end of the season on 26th February 2007. He once again teamed up with former manager Jeff King, and he scored on his debut in a 5-1 win at home to Carshalton Athletic. Lee was released from Grays Athletic following the end of the 2006/07 season, and promptly signed for Conference rivals Cambridge United
